To create a tropical, jungle look in a compact flat or living space, how about this Dwarf Fiddle Leaf Fig? Unlike its 3-metre tall cousins, Bambino will slowly grow to a maximum height of about 1 metre. Most of the growth is vertical and focused around the central stalks.

The big, fiddle-shaped leaves still retain the rainforest ambience, whilst taking up much less space than the taller, full-size varieties. If you’re creating a mixed group of indoor tropical species, a Dwarf Fiddle Leaf Fig is ideal for adding height to your arrangement.

Water / Feed

Water often, but don’t overwater. Leaf browning is a sign of overwatering. Feed monthly with diluted fertiliser through spring and summer.

Temperature / Humidity

Ficus lyrata Bambino is comfortable in temperatures between 16°C and 24°C (61°F and 75°F). Summer misting will recreate the humid conditions that this tropical tree loves.

Pet / Child – Maranta leu. Fascinator

When pruned, Ficus stalks and leaves leaves will ooze a white latex sap. This is considered toxic and can cause a skin rash. Gloves are recommended for pruning and disposal of cuttings.

Soil Type

Use free-draining, top quality potting compost if you need to repot this dwarf fig tree. Ensure that the pot has holes in the base for drainage. Added grit or similar drainage material will help to avoid overwatering.

Light / Position

Grow in a bright spot away from direct sunlight. Exposure to a little early morning or evening sunshine can be tolerated. Avoid positioning near drafts or radiators.

Growth / Spread

Will grow slowly to around 1m (39in) tall when positioned in ample light. Adjust the height with gentle pruning.
